Art History lecture series for Fall presents ‘The Princess and the knife: Virgin sacrifice in classical art’

The Art History and Liberal Arts Lecture Series will present a talk by SCAD Art History Professor, Dr. Anthony Mangieri titled, “The Princess and the Knife: Virgin Sacrifice in Classical Art.” The lecture explores the representation of the sacrificial virgins Iphigeneia and Polyxena in ancient Greek, Etruscan, and Roman art. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 5, 7:30p.m. at Event Space 4C. Refreshments will be served.
