May 18
1:15 a.m. — Security was informed that a vehicle had been hit by a closing gate at the DMC parking deck. The vehicle had attempted to exit as the gate started closing and did not stop in time. Damage was done to both the car and the gate.
May 6
10:15 p.m. — Spring House fire alarm system went into a trouble status. The monitoring company mistakenly dispatched the AFD.
8:10 p.m. — Spring House Security was notified by a student that someone had tied a condom onto the door handle of her car. Her car also would not start, but it was determined that that was caused by corrosion on the battery terminal.
May 3
3:49 p.m. — A student passed out in class. 911 was contacted and APD, AFD and EMS responded. Student was revived prior to AFD arrival. Student was checked by AFD and refused further treatment.
11:19 a.m. — A fire alarm was activated at the ACA Residence Hall, and the building was evacuated. The alarm had been cleared and indications were that it was caused by a smoke detector in the elevator room. A short time later the alarm at the same point went off again. Woodruff Maintenance was contacted to clean or change the smoke detector.
April 28
8:05 p.m. — Security was notified by the owner of a vehicle that a rear window on the passenger side was busted out. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

10:05 p.m. — The security manager was notified that an RD had received a threatening phone call from a parent. The security manager was later informed that the RD had contacted the parent and taken care of the situation.
April 13
8:06 a.m. — A student passed out in the 4C hallway near the elevators. Security was notified by a student and a professor. EMS arrived and checked on the student. Student was transported to the hospital.
8:20 p.m. — A student at the ACA Residence Hall reported that one of the windows to the game room was broken. The residence director and security supervisor were notified, as well as Woodruff Art Center security and maintenance. Review of video showed no one in the immediate area. There was an electrical transformer in the area that overloaded, and it was determined that the resulting concussion possibly caused the failure of the window.
April 12
8:03 a.m. — While attempting to park a car at the main building parking deck, a student struck a parked vehicle in the next space.
April 10
3:30 a.m. — Three students attempted to sneak three non-students into Spring House after visiting hours. The RA was notified and the non-students were escorted off property by security.

4:11 p.m. — A student was parking on the second level of the main building parking deck when she struck a parked vehicle. APD was called and a report was taken.

11:40 p.m. — A car rolled out of its parking space and struck a parked vehicle in the main building parking deck on the second level.

4:30 p.m. — A student was using the laundry facilities at Spring House. While in the area he was using equipment that was not permitted for student use. When a staff member informed him of this, he became verbally combative. The incident was passed on to the RD and RA on duty. Both talked to the student, and when he was asked for his student ID he refused to present it. Security was called and the student was escorted off property.
March 10
11:58 a.m. — A student passed out in the hallway on the 5C floor of the main building. Student was found unconscious, breathing, with a normal pulse. EMS was called and responded. After examination the student refused transport and was taken to her dorm to rest.

10:10 p.m. — A student reported that her car door had been keyed. The incident either happened on campus or off-property on March 3, as it was noticed on the way in to school on March 4.
March 3
11:25 p.m. — A non-student showed an invalid ID. ID was confiscated and turned over to the dean of students.
Feb. 22
6:50 p.m. — A student passed out in class. The student has a known condition; 911 was not called per her request.
Feb. 17
7:56 a.m. — A student notified Security that a mirror was damaged in the men’s restroom on the third floor of Building A. The mirror appeared to be punched or hit with a blunt object causing damage. Maintenance was notified and a replacement is being ordered.
Feb. 11
7:15 p.m. — A mother visiting her daughter (a student) fell off a stool and hit her head. She refused to have EMS respond and departed the property with her daughter.
Feb. 6
4:35 p.m. — Security was notified that a box with art supplies was stolen from a vehicle. Vehicle was reported to have been parked at either Spring House or the main building during the time in question.
11:27 p.m. — Security was notified that a project that was on display in the fashion area had been damaged.
Feb. 5
6:35 p.m. — The son of a SCAD staff member called saying his father was having health issues in his office. Security responded to his office and found him alert. EMS responded and determined that he needed tests at the hospital. He was transported to Atlanta Medical Center.
Feb. 4
3:33 p.m. — A vehicle entered the front driveway of the main campus, then turned around and exited the property going out the entrance. Students who were walking out the front reported that the occupants of the vehicle had thrown something out the window. It was discovered to be several unused hypodermic needles and two spoons with residue on them. The items were turned over to Midtown Blue along with a copy of video footage.
2 p.m. — A professor reported to Security that a student had passed out in class. 911 and the security supervisor were called. The supervisor arrived on site and assisted with directing EMS and AFD. The student was awake and refused medical treatment.
8 p.m. — Security found graffiti on a mirror in the women’s restroom. The graffiti was done in what appeared to be make-up. Further investigation found several sheets of paper taped to the wall in the 4C events space with the same messages as written on the mirror. It was determined that a student had done a photo shoot in those areas and had forgotten to clean up after she finished shooting her pictures.

10:44 p.m. — Two people in a vehicle sped past the Spring House security booth without stopping. One person hopped out and ran into the lobby. The driver said he was looking for a restroom and wanted to know how much a room was per night. The second person came back out and both were told that it was private property and not open to the public. They left without further incident.
Jan. 29
9:44 p.m. — Security was called to the Spring House Residence Hall to meet with the RD and on-duty RA. The security supervisor was informed that a resident and his guest had been caught smoking marijuana. The items were collected and taken to the Security Office to be photographed. The Guest was escorted off property.
Jan. 26
12:57 a.m. — A student leaving the DMC building struck the rolling gate in the parking deck. Gate was knocked off track and was repaired later in the morning.
7:50 a.m. — A SCAD staff member’s car door was struck by a student pulling into the adjacent parking space. APD was called to do a private property report.
5 p.m. — One of the cleaning crew was told by management to leave the property. The cleaner refused and Security was called to assist. The cleaning employee still refused to leave the property. Midtown Blue was called for assistance and the cleaner finally departed property without further incident.
5 p.m. — Security was informed that a fixed-blade knife was found in the computer lab by a student. It was turned over to the RD on duty, who turned it over to the security manager. Video will be reviewed to attempt to determine ownership of the weapon.
Jan. 18
2:33 p.m. — The fire alarm at the DMC building sounded. Alarm indicated the dry pipe system in the parking deck. AFD responded and the on-call engineer was notified. A call was placed to the fire systems company to start repairs to the pipe.
Jan. 17
9:18 p.m. — The on-duty Spring House RA noted two males jumping the back fence to enter the residence hall area. Security was called and a search was done. The individuals were not found.
Jan. 16
4:39 p.m. — A Spring House resident requested transport to a medical facility. The on-duty RD was contacted and the student was transported by Security to the local hospital.
Jan. 10
10:50 p.m. — Security was called to a room at Spring House. There was a resident and two others in the room. Security noted that the room had the smell of marijuana smoke and a pipe with some other substances. The visitors were escorted from property. Items were taken to the security manager’s office to be photographed and destroyed.
Jan. 7
10:40 a.m. — The driver of the Waste Management truck reported that a vehicle had attempted to pass by him while he was pulling the dumpster at the main campus. This vehicle grazed his bumper but did not do any damage to the Waste Management truck. He reported that the other vehicle did not stop and would have paint damage along its side.
6:48 p.m. — A student passed out at the main building and hit his head on the floor. EMS was called and responded. Security escorted EMS personnel to the student and the student was evaluated. Student refused to be transported.
Jan. 6
8:05 p.m. — The fire alarm sounded at the Digital Media Center. Indication was a water flow alarm on the dry pipe system. A broken water pipe was found in the loading dock area and the shut off valve closed. AFD responded then departed at 8:25 p.m.
Jan. 4
1:55 p.m. — A student was trapped in an elevator in the ACA Residence Hall. Woodruff Art Center Maintenance was called and an elevator technician arrived to release the student with no incident.
Jan. 2
4:05 p.m. — A male entered the building from the first-floor parking deck area and then came up the escalator to the Command Center level. The male was a homeless person that was attempting to find a warm place to stay. He was informed that he could not stay here and was asked to leave.

December 20, 2009
Nov. 18
5:11 a.m. — A student collapsed and was unresponsive on the fourth floor of the C Building. EMS, AFD, and APD responded. Student awoke and refused to be transported.
Nov. 19
5:15 a.m. — A student cut her finger deeply on a sewing machine in the fashion department. Student was treated with basic first aid and then taken to the emergency room by another student.
Nov. 20
8:30 a.m — Maintenance notified Security that several elevators had been hit with graffiti. Pictures of the affected areas were taken, and review of video is underway to identify the person(s) involved.
10:16 a.m. — The shuttle bus driver notified Security that someone had trailed a line of paint from inside the shuttle bus into the main building. The trail was followed and a student was found attempting to clean up the paint on the fifth floor, C Building. He did not realize that his paint can had leaked. Cleaning crew was notified and was able to clean up the carpet and floor spaces.
10:50 a.m. — The main building fire panel sounded an alert, followed seconds later by the fire alarm. A pull station on the third floor, B Building had been pulled. Video is being reviewed to attempt to identify the person who pulled the pull station.
12:50 p.m. — Two students were moving out of the ACA Residence Hall, when one student hit the right back bumper of the other student’s vehicle. Students exchanged insurance information. Atlanta PD was not notified.
Dec. 2
9:35 a.m. — The fire monitoring company called stating that an alarm was active at Spring House, and that the fire department was en route. Investigation showed that it was a trouble alarm for a low battery.
Dec. 4
5:18 p.m. — The fire alarm sounded at the main campus. Alarm was caused by dust in a smoke detector. Alarm was cleared and reset. AFD did respond.
Dec. 7
2:40 p.m. — The fire alarm sounded at the DMC. Alarm was caused by dust in a smoke detector on the second-floor elevator lobby. Alarm was cleared and reset. AFD did respond.
Dec. 18
12:45 a.m. — Security noted that a male entered the building from the first-floor parking deck area and then came up the escalator to the Command Center level. Upon seeing Security, the individual turned and went back down the escalator and departed the building. The patrol supervisor was called but did not see the individual on property.

Oct. 25
9:20 p.m. — A student notified the Spring House RD of the need to visit a medical facility. The RD notified Security and student was picked up and transported to the hospital.
9:49 p.m. — The Spring House RD called Security to assist in a room search for a possible dorm violation.
Oct. 30
8:25 p.m. — The main campus fire alarm was set off by a fog machine prop in the 4C events space. Fire department responded and alarm was reset after fog was cleared from room.
Oct. 31
Midnight — The fire alarm was set off a second time in the 4C events space due to the fog machine. Alarm was reset after air cleared.
Nov. 02
1:15 a.m. — Security patrol noted graffiti on the tunnel wall on the entrance side. Maintenance was notified and area was repainted.
Nov. 07
Midnight — Student reported that her car had been struck while in the parking deck. There was damage to the passenger-side front fender.
Nov. 8
5:35 p.m. — Student informed Security about a homeless person setting up camp in the front lawn area of the main building. The homeless person was informed to move on and he did with out incident.
Nov. 9
8:05 p.m. — Security was contacted by a concerned parent regarding their daughter who was sick. The RA and RD were notified and Security transported the student to the hospital to be evaluated.
Nov. 10
7 a.m. — Security noted that the mannequins stored on the loading dock at the main campus had been knocked over and damaged. Further investigation showed that two were missing. Review of video footage for area is under way.
Nov. 11
12:11 a.m. — Alarm monitoring company notified Security that the fire department was en route to Spring House for a fire alarm. The Spring House officer reported that no alarm was audible. Turned out there was a trouble alarm on the panel that the monitoring company misread. Fire department checked the panel and departed the property.
1:05 a.m. — Security noted a male walking through the tunnel towards the main campus. The person started running when he saw Security. He ran across Peachtree Street into the Jewish Temple complex. The DMC officer noted the same individual attempting to enter the building through a side door. The Security supervisor was notified and Midtown Blue was called. Security operations manager assisted in the search for the individual. The individual was not found on property after searching the parking deck and interior of the DMC building.
Nov. 12
5 p.m. — A student’s laptop was stolen off the 5th floor C building. The student had left the laptop unattended, and when he came back it was gone.
Nov. 13
3:10 a.m. — Security at the ACA Residence Hall reported that the fire alarm was active and the building was evacuating. The fire department responded and the alarm was reset.

October 21, 2009
Oct. 12
10:37 a.m. — Beeline Bus Driver noted a suspicious person near the area of the breezeway walking toward Peachtree Street. Beeline driver notified Security of the individual’s description and direction of travel. Security confirmed that the person had indeed left the property.
2:33 p.m. — The RD for Spring House requested a transport of a student. Student got a ride from a friend before Security could arrive to pick up.
Oct. 14
10:23 a.m. — The RD for Spring House requested a transport of a student. Student was transported to minor emergency center and later picked up to be returned to the residence hall.
11:54 a.m. — The RD for Spring House requested a transport of a student. Student was transported to minor emergency center and later picked up to be returned to the residence hall. Student then had to be taken to hospital due to insurance not accepted at minor emergency center.
Oct. 15
6:53 a.m. — A student approached the security command desk asking for first aid help. She reportedly had been bitten by a dog at her home off campus. She was treated at the command desk with available first aid supplies and then transported to the hospital for further treatments.
3:26 p.m. — A student had passed out in class, then again as a friend was bringing her down on the elevator, then one more time at the security command desk. The student was asked to sit down behind the desk and the security supervisor, account manager and OCC were called. Water and a snack were offered to her. She was transported to the minor emergency center for further evaluation. Student was later picked up and returned to campus.
4:26 p.m. — A professor notified Security that a student was hyperventilating in the stairwell outside his class. The security supervisor responded and found a student in emotional distress which was triggering an asthma attack. Student treated the asthma. The OCC was called to talk to the student.
7:40 p.m. — A student slipped and fell in the Hub. She was attended to by security staff and later transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Oct. 16
2:26 a.m. — RA noted a party going on in one of the rooms at Spring House. Security was called along with the RD. Participants’ information was taken. Alcohol was confiscated, photographed and disposed of.

3:35 p.m. — The RD for Spring House requested a medical transport of a student to the minor emergency clinic. Student was later picked up and returned to the dorm.
4:15 p.m. — A student passed out in class. 911 was contacted; dean of students, a counselor and Security responded. Student refused medical treatment.
11:24 p.m. — Security received a complaint of a smoky odor in the ACA Residence Hall. RD and security supervisor responded and talked to students in one of the rooms. Alcohol was found in the room along with makeshift smoking equipment.

Sept. 28
3:10 p.m. — Security was notified of an auto accident at the rear entrance to the main building. There were no injuries. APD was notified to do a Private Property Report.
3:15 p.m. — A fire alarm was reported by the monitoring company for the DMC building. The Fire Department responded and the alarm was verified false.
Sept. 29
1:50 a.m. — A student attempted to sneak a visitor into the college building after hours. Information was collected, and the student was referred to see Student Services in the morning.
Oct. 04
3:52 p.m. — Security was notified that students were trapped in Room 357 of the DMC building. The badge reader did not work properly to allow them to exit.
