SCAD FASH, our resident fashion museum, will be hosting a scholarship benefit this Thursday, Jan. 21 from 6-8 p.m. The benefit will be marking the opening of two new exhibitions: “A Fashionable Mind: Photographs by Jonathan Becker” and “Daniel Lismore: Be Yourself; Everyone Else Is Already Taken.” An excerpt about Becker from the SCAD FASH site says, “As a portraitist and documentarian, Becker has traversed the globe in search of his most captivating and diverse subjects, including the upper echelons of fashion, entertainment, style, high society and art, as well as unique subcultures such as the Yanomami tribe of the Amazon jungle. Featuring more than 60 photographs, “A Fashionable Mind” showcases Becker’s significant contributions to contemporary photography.” The Daniel Lismore exhibition features imagery of the stylist/designer’s over-the-top couture looks. These two exhibitions will be perfect for designers, photographers or fashion lovers alike.

Tickets for the scholarship benefit are $100 and all of the proceeds will go towards funding existing, as well as creating new scholarships for SCAD students. To purchase tickets, visit scadfash.org.
