As college students we’re always trying to save that extra buck, especially when it comes to shopping and department stores can wreck your wallet. To give you an idea of some of  the best variety and prices, here is a list of five thrift stores here in Atlanta that I recommend.

1. The Clothing Warehouse
420 Moreland Avenue
Atlanta, Georgia 30307

This place has an array of different vintage, quality clothing. The inventory ranges from high-waisted jean pants and shorts to drug rug pullovers and even flashy, colorful 90’s windbreakers. Overwhelmed by such a large variety of clothing, you could go fashionably insane! Their best attribute is their high-waist jean selection.

2. Buffalo Exchange
1057 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE
Atlanta, Georgia 30306

This unique fashion hotspot lets you sell unwanted clothing for cash or trade in your items. Buffalo Exchange offers a various choices of clothing to fit the needs of to fit the needs of any style. From the grunge chic look to an girly chic prep style, they have it all. The awesome part is that you won’t hear any flak from your parents about over-spending on shopping. Like any thrift store, it’s like a scavenger hunt to find the perfect pieces for you, but it’s worthwhile. Spice up your wardrobe with something you wouldn’t normally wear. The best attribute about this place would be its accessories and handbags. I once thrifted a Juicy Couture necklace in this place, can you say score?

3. Rag-O-Rama
1111 Euclid Avenue, NE
Atlanta, Georgia, 30307

In the heart of one of the most popular bargain areas in Atlanta, Rag-O-Rama shares the home of Little Five Points with The Clothing Warehouse. Just a few feet away from each others, these two awesome thrift stores have similar but very different varieties of style. Just as you can buy and sell at Buffalo Exchange, you can also do the same here. Rag-O-Rama also tends to be cheaper than its neighbor, The Clothing Warehouse. The best attribute about this place would be its vintage dresses.

4. Plato’s Closet
2484 Briarcliff Rd. NE
Atlanta, Georgia 30329

A place to shop for the hottest brands at reasonable prices! This is the ultimate store to get more bang for your buck. They have designer labels such as True Religion, Miss Me, Michael Kors, BeBe, UGG and Kate Spade just to name a few. Just like two of the others I’ve mentioned Plato’s also buys your unwanted clothing, which is awesome! I would have to say Plato’s best feature is their purses and designer watches (if you catch them on a good day).

5. Goodwill

The all-time favorite for thrifters and shoppers on a budget. If all else fails, Goodwill won’t let you down. Not only does Goodwill has faily cheap prices but they also have a good selection if you have good timing. You can find a Goodwill in almost any area in or around Atlanta. Do your research first, however, as some can be better than others. Goodwill’s best attribute would have to be their awesome prices.

I hope this was helpful. Happy thrifting!
