Alexander Wang, the creative director for Balenciaga, took the fashion world by storm when he announced his upcoming collaboration with H&M via Instagram and the Coachella Music Festival. He is now joining the ranks of fashion greats such as Isabel Marant, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Comme des Garcons, all of which have already worked with the high street fashion brand.

This is a landmark decision for H&M, as Wang is the first American designer to work with the brand, as well as the youngest. When questioned by Style.com, Wang replied, “The idea of collaborations isn’t new anymore, they’ve been done from all angles. When they approached me, I wanted to do something different. It will be a new take on a lifestyle offering. It’s a little early [to talk about it], but it’s a completely new take on how they do collaborations.”

Fashion bloggers and sites are already trying to predict the pieces that will be included in the collection, which will debut November of this year. From wedges and staple handbags to LBD’s and leather jackets, rumor has it this collection will be a smash hit for the young, urban audience H&M caters to.

Overall, this men’s and women’s collection will no doubt be, as British Vogue put it, “…a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.” Get your credit cards ready kids because Wang is coming to town.
