Fashion Haus, SCAD-Atlanta’s student club for all things fashion, presented their annual fashion show this past Saturday. SCAD-Atlanta students, faculty and staff came to the 4C event space to see fashion students’ designs on the runway. The show featured the designs of approximately 30-40 students, from second-year students up to graduate students.
Fashion Haus members conceived and executed the entire show, from set-up to lighting and photography. Prior to the fashion show, the club presented a video montage that showed “life behind the scenes” of fashion students and members of Fashion Haus. The fashion show itself consisted of a variety of ready-to-wear garments, ranging from one piece per student to four or five garments from the more advanced students.
Chelsey Collins, a second-year fashion student, was one of the many students in attendance. “I thought it was a fabulous show,” said Collins. “Everything, including the garments, was more put-together than last year. They did a great job.”
Incoming freshman Ellen Sauer, who will enter SCAD-Atlanta as a fashion student in fall of 2009, said that the show gave her a good idea of the talent in the fashion department at SCAD. “It was a wonderful experience to see what I have to look forward to this fall,” said Sauer. “Clearly the fashion students work very hard and are good at what they do!”
Vice President P.J. Johnson attended the show as well, and said that he was impressed by Fashion Haus’ effort. “The whole show was fabulous,” said Johnson. “The production value was very high. Everything looked superb, from the garments to the models. Fashion Haus did a great job.”
