Blizzard Entertainment representatives, Sumer Ortiz and Choua Her, were at the SCAD Welcome Center on Nov. 5 for a presentation to provide information about the company, and how to get an internship or job there. Blizzard is a video game developer branch of Activision based in Irvine, California. Some of its most notable games are World of Warcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, and Star Craft. Before the lecture started, the representatives gave away a few t-shirts to participants who could answer questions related to several game series created by Blizzard. Read more

As the weather gets cooler, we start to face the same problems we do every year. Adapting to a new season can be overwhelming especially when the fashion industry throws so many trends and looks at us all at once. SCAD-Atlanta food drive going on until Thursday

The office of student life, in conjunction with United Students Forum and Pro Initiatives, asks SCAD-Atlanta to brighten the lives of families in need this holiday season. Nonperishable food items will be accepted in the Student Resource Center until Thursday, Nov. 20. All items will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which distributes almost 2 million pounds of food and other grocery items each month to more than 800 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in metro Atlanta and north Georgia. The food bank supports a wide range of people in need, from children to the working poor. Food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers are among the agencies that receive products from the food bank. SCADDY Awards deadline approaching

Submissions are still being taken for the SCADDY awards, and the deadline is Monday, Nov. 24 by 5 p.m. The SCADDY Awards honor student achievement in the advertising arts and related creative disciplines. SCAD students from the advertising design, graphic design, broadcast design and motion graphics, film and television, photography, fashion, animation, illustration and liberal arts departments are encouraged to enter.
