“Is it true that SCAD discontinued the auxiliary service Savannah Cinema Post?”
Yes. Savannah Cinema Post closed June 10 because of the lack of film processing business and the high cost of film processing. Services discontinued at SCAD include 16mm and 35mm motion picture film processing, film to video (standard definition digital) transfer, DVD authoring and duplication services, and retail sales of various production, postproduction and recording media. Student rates are being established at various labs in Atlanta, Miami and Orlando. That information will be made available in the near future.

How can you collaborate with others to improve student learning?
As part of SCAD’s reaffirmation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, students, faculty and staff have been submitting ideas on the creation of a significant project designed to enhance student learning. This project is called the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
QEP ideas have been posted on the QEP blog site at http://blog.scad.edu/qep/submitted-topics-2/ , and SCAD students, faculty and staff are encouraged to read through the submissions and post constructive comments about them. The QEP team hopes to use these comments to refine or develop further the proposals posted on the blog.
It’s not too late to submit your own QEP topic! Through July 31, SCAD is accepting ideas for QEP topics focused on new models for collaboration at SCAD. To contribute, log on to MySCAD and click the QEP Suggestions Form link in the MySCAD channel “Preparing for SACS 2010.” You can also e-mail your suggestions to QEP@scad.edu.

How would you enhance student learning at SCAD?
July 1, 2008
From SCAD Message System
Every 10 years, each regionally accredited institution in the United States must go through a process of reaffirmation of accreditation. A number of SCAD colleagues have been hard at work preparing the college for the reaffirmation process through SCAD’s regional accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The process involves both a certification of the college’s compliance with the SACS Principles of Accreditation and the creation of a significant project designed to enhance student learning, called the Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP.
SCAD is interested in your ideas for a QEP topic focused on new models for collaboration at SCAD. All that’s needed is the title of your topic suggestion and a short description (250 words or so) of what your suggestion is about. Your suggestion will be included with others from across the college for a review and comment process later in the summer. The deadline for submitting suggestions is Thursday, July 31.
You can contribute your ideas by logging on to MySCAD and clicking the QEP Suggestions Form link in the new MySCAD channel “Preparing for SACS 2010″ under the My Campus tab. You can also e-mail your suggestions to QEP@scad.edu. In your e-mail, be sure the title of your suggestion indicates the focus for the plan, summarizes its intent and indicates how it deals with collaboration. The description should explain the plan’s primary features and specifically how your idea for a new model of collaboration can enhance student learning.
