SCAD Style brings leaders in design to campus
SCAD-Atlanta to host trunk shows and lectures

SCAD will be hosting five trunk shows in the upcoming weeks as part of the ongoing SCAD Style event. The trunk shows will exhibit the fashion designs of well-known alumni such as Jenny Little and Claire Sanchez. All the trunk shows will be located at shopSCAD and attendees will have the opportunity to meet each designer and receive a free gift with purchase. Read the story »

SCAD-Atlanta will be hosting its second annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 31, at
the Georgia World Congress Center. The ceremony is for graduates of SCAD-Atlanta and their guests.
The ceremony will include a speech from President Paula Wallace, in addition to a special guest speaker (who had not been announced at press time). The ceremony will also recognize outstanding students’ academic accomplishments by presenting two Presidential Medals, an Excelsus Laureate and four Outstanding Academic Achievement awards. Artists’ Book Symposium a resounding success: Three SCAD-Atlanta students honored in competition

Students on the Hunt for jobs: SCAD-Atlanta students travel to Savannah for career fair

A large group of students from SCAD-Atlanta trekked to Savannah for a day to attend the Career Fair on April 4th. The Career Fair was packed and lines were lengthy at some of the recruiters’ tables, particularly Turner Broadcasting. This trip certainly seemed like an uncommon opportunity for students to get more information about jobs and internships. Read the story »

A couple weeks ago, I wrote about a still-growing online petition calling for Costa Rican artist Guillermo “Habacuc” Vargas not to be included in this year’s Bienal Centroamericana Honduras. The alleged reason was a stray dog, named Natividad, which was held captive in a gallery without food or water as part of one of the artist’s exhibition. Nobody really knows if the aforementioned act happened, but just the gossip about it has generated a public comotion. Read the story »
